Shaky

Bersih 3.0 - watching the videos and listening to the news just puts into perspective what a 'developing nation' really means. The little riots, the violence here and there, the everyday inconcludable debates, the sudden uprising of the minorities, and the promise of a better tomorrow. It is certain that although all these things have their own impacts, however good or bad, they all lead to the bigger picture. Change. I wouldn't call it a revolution for it carries too strong a meaning. But Change, is a definite outcome.

As mortifying as it may seem to see your own county face such problems in the everyday news, it should come as no surprise. At only a young tender age of 55 years, Malaysia is bound to experience many a turbulent time to come. Many mistakes that need to be made so that we may learn. Many lives to be lost so that we may cherish. Tougher times that need to come and past, so that we may unite. ASSUMING that America, a 'first world country', is a perfect example of where Malaysia should aim to stand, then boy do we have a long journey ahead. It took America more than 230 years to vote it's first 'Black' president into the Whitehouse. Yes, we have a long way to go.

Do not give up hope in this country, for the only way for a better tomorrow is a to open your eyes to today. Don't get me wrong, i am not asking you to go into the streets and demand for an instant change. I am merely expressing my opinion that we are indeed New in this world and should understand that it takes Time. In the abundance of media and international news, it is easy to make a mislead judgement of the situation that we are facing. Oh yes, we live in the 21st country, what is the need for such violence and madness to call for change. Well what is the difference between what we are now, and what humans were a 100, 200 years ago. Education? Economical status? Think about it, if everyone in the world got smarter, no one is actually smarter. If everyone in the world was rich, no one is really richer. The problems they faced a 100 years ago are exactly the same as the problems now, just on a different, 'smarter' and 'richer' level. So really to me, nothing has changed and we are definitely in for some tough times.

It just scares me to see it actually happening.
